Basic Life Support (BLS)
The BLS course is designed for healthcare professionals and students in health-related fields who require certification or recertification in basic life support. Whether you're a nursing student preparing for clinical rotations, a faculty member in the health sciences, or a medical resident needing to sharpen your skills, this course provides the critical training needed for effective response to cardiac emergencies. You'll gain hands-on experience with high-quality CPR techniques, team dynamics, and using an AED in various settings. Completing this course ensures you're prepared to handle life-threatening situations within clinical environments and the broader community. This course is offered in two formats: a blended learning course (HeartCode BLS) and an instructor led course (BLS).
HeartCode BLS (Blended Learning): This blended learning course features an in-depth online assignment that must be purchased and completed prior to attending the in-person skills session. The online assignment can be purchased and completed from the AHA's website here: https://elearning.heart.org/course/437. This course is more flexible and a smaller time commitment than a traditional BLS Instructor Led class, however, due to AHA pricing for online content, it is slightly more expensive.
BLS (Instructor Led): This instructor led course is a fully in person class that covers each aspect of the BLS course. There is no work that has to be completed prior to class, and our qualified instructors will guide you through a number of lectures and hands on skill sessions. This class is a larger in-person time commitment, however it is offered at a lower cost as there is no need for online content.
