in your Community

Calling all Quinnipiac Students! Are you a motivated individual looking to serve your community?

We want you on our team!

To provide the best care possible, it takes a village to keep QU EMS running! Our agency consists of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) & Auxiliary members, all of whom vitally contribute to our agency’s mission: To provide the highest quality care to those within our community.

Learn more below about the requirements for each membership type, how to apply, and some common FAQs.

Membership Types:

Join as an EMT

Joining the EMT Division of QU EMS begins with you holding a probationary member status. As a probationary member, you will attend additional trainings to help you improve your clinical skills as an EMT, along with onboarding into our organization’s unique operations. You'll have the opportunity to ride with Crew Chiefs who will mentor you on calls. After your probationary period, you can be promoted to Crew Chief and lead your own crews. Throughout your time at QU EMS, you will have an incredible amount of educational opportunities available at your fingertips. From our monthly CMEs taught by subject matter experts, ride alongs with the Fire Department, and even opportunities within our Hospitals, QU EMS is here to help you grow as a medical provider, giving you connections that will last a lifetime.

Join the Auxiliary

Joining the Auxiliary Division of QU EMS is for interested students with all types of backgrounds. You don’t have to be an EMT to join the Auxiliary! It takes a village to deliver high-quality care to our campus community and our Auxiliary members work side-by-side with our EMTs to help achieve this goal. From service in our officer positions to rising in the ranks of our training site, our Auxiliary members serve an integral role in the function and comradery of the agency. Joining the Auxiliary gives you an opportunity to serve your community while exploring EMS. Trainings held by the organization will expand your medical knowledge and provide opportunities to broaden your social and professional circles. If you decide to pursue your EMT certification down the road, you can always transition into the EMT division if you wish.

Both membership types use the same form with branching.
Please note, to ensure application security, students must be logged into their Quinnipiac SSO account to access the form.
