Familiarize yourself with the AHA requirements for becoming a BLS Instructor (the QU-TS will affiliate you with the YNHH CEMS Training Center, so no need to reach out to a TC).

Complete the online assignment prior to your in-person course date (an individual access code will be provided after registration).

Complete your student teaching as an instructor candidate
The BLS Instructor Essentials Course is designed to prepare instructor candidates to teach AHA Instructor-led and blended learning BLS Provider courses. It educates instructor candidates on how to use AHA Instructor teaching materials, ensure that students meet learning objectives, offer student coaching skills, provide an objective skills performance evaluation, and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. The course covers core content and discipline-specific content required to teach AHA courses.
This is a Blended Learning Course meaning there is an online assignment that must be purchased and completed prior to attending the in-person skills session. Read more about those in the directions below. QU EMS members, please check with the TSC as an access code for the online assignment will be provided for you after registration.

Prerequisites:
Students must have a current BLS Provider certification to be eligible for taking BLS Instructor Essentials.
